Here is how to participate in "Love That Cover Monday"

Create your own blog post about the cover(s) you liked that you received, bought, borrowed from the library, ect. from last week or recently and then you can add the "love That Cover" Banner shown above if you wish (I just love seeing my three favorite covers) but you don't have to. Just link back to me in your post somewhere.

2. Then return back to Chrissy's World Of Books on Monday and add your direct link to your post in the list.

3. If you hop to another blog using the list below let them know you are there via the love That Cover Monday hop.

Covers I liked last week: I had two covers that I liked a whole lot from the pile I received last week.

Dreams Of A Dark Warrior By Kresley Cole
Cover design by Lisa Litwack
Cover illustration by Craig White

This is such a wonderful cover I think... It's in black and white but boy do those muscles stand out. This is one cover that just doesn't need to be all colored up.

Received this book for review from Simon and Schuster

A Light At Winter's End by Julia London
Cover illustration by Tom Hallman
Interior design by Davina Mock-Maniscalco

This is a pretty cover that follows true to the back side of the book. I love the color choices used on the cover and the couple sure dose look like they are happy. Love the yellow flowers adds a warm feeling touch to the cover.

Description: (Goodreads) Kate Woodbridge has spent most of her life sailing to exotic ports around the globe, acquiring an expertise in botany, along with a few less ladylike skills. So when a deathbed promise to her parents brings her to London to seek reconciliation with her grandfather, the imperious Duke of Cluyne, she feels like a fish out of water. Her outspoken views and fiery temper tend to set off sparks in Society-especially with the rakish Conte of Como.

A devil-may-care rogue, Marco finds the alluring and mysterious Kate a tempting target for his flirtations. But when murder strikes at the duke's country house party he begins to suspect that she's hiding a dark secret. He has his own clandestine reasons for offering to help her prove her innocence . . . And so begins a journey of dangerous deception that leads from England to the glittering ballrooms of Vienna, where Marco and Kate must duel with a deadly villain . . . and their own explosive attraction.

My Thoughts: To Tempt A Rake is the third book in the circle of sin series. I always like to read series in order but I haven't read the first two books yet. I thought after reading To Tempt A Rake that it could be read as a stand alone. I enjoyed this historical romance from the beginning to the end.

This book had the right amount of mystery, romance and even murder. The characters in this book came to life for me and I was suddenly lost up in the novel.
I rate this novel 4 stars didn't like itit was okliked itreally liked it (my current rating)it was amazing

About The Author: Cara Elliott

I started creating books at the age of five, or so my mother tells me. And she has the proof — a neatly penciled story, the pages lavishly illustrated with full color crayon drawings of horses and bound with staples — to back up her claim. I have since moved on from Westerns to writing about Regency England, a time and place that has captured my imagination ever since I opened the covers of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice.

I have a BA and an MFA in Graphic Design from Yale University and now work as the creative director of a lifestyle sporting magazine, a job which lets me combine my love of the printed word with my love of art. I’m very fortunate in that my work allows me to travel to interesting destinations around the world — however, my favorite spot is London, where the funky antique markets and used book stores offer a wealth of inspiration for my stories.

My Thoughts:

I was able to review Cynthia's first two books in this series Deadly Fear (Deadly Fear & Deadly Heat) and I am extremely happy that I was able to review Book #3 in the Deadly series Deadly Lies.

I enjoyed Deadly Lies from the first page all the way tell the end. This book was action packed threw and threw. If you haven't read the other two this could be read as a stand alone book. I highly recommend this series. I am so glad to find this author I will be looking for more of her work in the future.

Author Guest Post : Vincent Zandri Author Of The innocent

Kindles and E-Books Offer Endless Opportunities for Authors/Publishers/Readers
By Vincent Zandri

Remember the days when you'd sign a major contract, get a big ass check in the mail, and just spend a year or so partying like a rock star in New York or Los Angeles or Lincoln, Nebraska for that matter? There was nothing else to do because after all, your book probably wouldn't be hitting the shelves until at least a year from contract execution.

I remember my original editor for The Innocent telling me to "Take a break," at the lobby bar of the hotel we were staying at for Bouchercon back when that novel was first about to be published by Delacorte.

All that's changed now with the new publishing model which includes heavy reliance on Kindle and E-Book sales. It's no longer cool for an author to write one book a year or every two years (Egaads!). Authors now can, and should, try and write at least a couple of novels a year, including some digital shorts. Readers with Kindles can now read more books simply because of the ease and convenience of downloading them and also because they can afford them. It used to be a bit of a strain on a budget to invest in a $30 book. But now you can have that same book for anywhere from $.99 cents to $9.99, hot off the digital press.

Other exciting opportunities also exist for authors, publishers, and readers. For instance, my bestselling Kindle novel, The Remains has been teamed up with Aaron Patterson's bestselling novel, Sweet Dreams to form one of the first ever special edition, two thriller Kindle packages which is now available from StoneHouse Ink for just $4.99. I'm not advertising the "Sweet Dreams/Remains" special edition so much as I'm alerting you the reader and author as to the great opportunities that now exist for us all.

It's because of these ops that I'm able to make a living and you dear reader, don't have to go broke because of it. Everyone benefits.

So what's on the horizon?

Digital shorts that will eventually be collected into a special edition volume. Collected non-fiction volumes, collected blogs, entire single author fiction cannons, special "uncut" editions of novels, special "cleaned up" editions of novels, etc. The opportunities are endless.

So long as the product is worth the price of admission and so long as we authors keep honing and improving our craft, we'll keep churning out the work for you. Oh, and thanks but no thanks, dear editor. This author isn't interested in taking breaks. I've got two novels going now and I can't wait to finish them so that I can start two more. After all, 'm a writer. That's what I do.

For a ton of Reading Ops, head to WWW.VINCENTZANDRI.COM

Third Sentence Thursday (#1)

Third Sentence Thursday is a weekly meme for curling up with the third sentences of books.

This week's theme is review the sentence from your current read.

1) Take the book you are reading now and post the third sentence
2) Review this sentence anyway you want (funny and silly reviews encouraged)
3) Post a link to your sentence here or if you don't have a blog, just post it in the comments!
4) Prepare for next week's theme: Third Sentence Review (nothing special folks sorry, busy with tests for one last week!)

The Confessions Of Catherine DeMedici By C W Gortner

"Outside the window I could hear the splashing of the courtyard fountain, the cries of the vendors in the Via Larga and staccato of horse hooves on the cobblestone streets, and I thought for the hundredth time that I couldn't stay inside another minute."

My first thought was wow this is the longest 3rd sentence ever.... I wouldn't be able to stay inside either with all that going on outside I would want to get out and investigate and possible sit by that fountain and read my book.

Description: (Goodreads) Little Cub’s trip to a special museum exhibit, “Bears Around the World,” sparks a flurry of questions from the young polar bear who is just beginning to learn about life beyond her North Pole home.

As Mama Bear shares with her about the different types of places that God has put the various types of bears, with their different kinds of fur and eating habits, Little Cub begins to wonder: Why didn’t God make us all the same?

With Mama’s loving guidance, Little Cub is taught to see the vastness of God’s wonderful creation, his abilities as an amazing, inventive Creator, his desire for us to care for our world, and especially the important lesson that…

“Every bear has a special place in God’s great, big world.”

It's story time at my house and my oldest daughter is enjoying reading to my youngest. They enjoy their reading time together. They sat and read and read and read.
This was a wonderful story with all kinds of different bears. My youngest loves bears and she sure enjoyed this book. The beautifully colored pictures kept her focused and she made big sister read it over and over.

I thought this was a wonderful story with a fantastic lesson. A polar bear cub in the north pole learns that God has made many different types of bears living in different lands and with different types of fur. Little cub learns that every bear has a special place in God's great big world and this is a great story to teach kids that they have a special place also.

This book is part of God Gave Us series which includes: God Gave Us You, God Gave Us Two, God Gave Us Christmas, God Gave Us Heaven, God Gave Us Love and God Gave Us So Much. This is a wonderful book with a great lesson. I am definitely going to pick up more of these books for my little girl.

It's hard to believe my blog is 1 year old today..... This year has gone by so quickly... My other blog Happy Mom Of 5 is almost 2 years old. Wow my babies are growing up.

It feels just like yesterday when my sister of DK'S Everything Romance Books convinced me to start a book blog. I decided that was a good idea and I started to build Chrissy's World Of Books. I remember telling my husband the day I was building my book blog "just great I'll make this book blog and have noting to talk about on it". Boy was I wrong... I find more to say and do on my book blog then I actually do on my main blog.

I want to thank all of the authors and publishers of the books that I have loved, enjoyed, featured and reviewed on my blog. I especially want to thank my followers for following my blog. Thank you everyone you have made my first year so wonderful... Now for my giveaway.....

Six months after her lover died in an arsonist's blaze, firefighter Lora Spade calls in the FBI's elite Serial Services Division to track the elusive killer. For the first time in months, she longs for something other than vengeance.

He wants her . . .
Kenton's interest in Lora should be purely professional. But one fleeting kiss and he can't get her out of his mind. Her combination of strength and vulnerability makes him want to protect her, and that means solving this case - and fast. For even the passion igniting between them can't hide a terrifying truth: Lora is the next target in a murderer's sadistic, fiery game.

A vicious killer wants only . . . DEADLY HEAT

My Thoughts:

I was able to review Cynthia's first book in this series Deadly Fear (See My Reivew) so I was so pleased to be able to review her next two books in this series. Today's review is on Deadly Heat Book #2 in the Deadly Series and I will be posting a review on Deadly Lies on the 4th.

I hadn't read anything from Cynthia before reading Deadly Fear and after reading that book I was hooked I was hopping she continued the same wonderful writing in her next book and I wasn't disappointed at all. Deadly Heat was full of suspense and romance a real on the edge of your seat read. I have read the first book in the series but Deadly Heat was written so well that it could be read as a stand alone book.

I rated this book 5 stars
