It's Mail Box Monday - A Look At All The Books That Arrived Last Week

There were a few books that arrived in my mailbox last week.... These all arrived free for me to review so be on the look out for some of these reviews coming up..... I love to read and my favorite way to read is Free.....

My kids get a big thrill out of books that I get that arrive from over seas.... I got 2 books last week one from the U.K. and the other from Dubai, United Arab Emirates.... They save the stamps and postage to collect and they really love when they come from the U.K. because the postage says Royal Mail.... My youngest son thinks they come straight from the Queen of England lol....

My Thoughts:

I was happy to get the third book (The Diamond Collar Adventure) in the Penny and Rio series. My kids and I really enjoyed the first two books in the series and was looking forward to reading The Diamond Collar Adventure.

Penny and Rio meets Hannah a Golden Retriever who has lost her collar. Penny and Rio set off to help Hannah find her valuable collar and meet up with a couple more dogs Ted the Collie and Sarge the German Shepherd. You will never guess where the collar finally ends up but these four dogs don't give up tell they find it. At the very end they meet another dog named Hobbes when they make one heck of a mess getting Hannah's collar back.

My children loved this story very much. They just love dogs and this story had a Golden Retriever in it like their dogs Boomer and Mercadies. They were glued to this book chapter after chapter waiting to find out what would happen next. The wonderfully, colored illustrated pictures were a hit with my children. Not only were they able to listen to the story I was reading but they also could follow along and look at each one of the dogs in the story.

Jennifer Swanson does it again with another wonderfully written book in the Penny & Rio Series. If you have children this Series is defiantly a must have for their book shelf. My 10 year old son takes these books and enjoys reading them for his school Book It program...
